What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at Kalon Executive Search?
The Quality Assurance Manager leads all quality and food safety programs to ensure products meet regulatory standards and company requirements. This role partners cross-functionally to maintain compliance, drive continuous improvement, and foster a strong culture of quality across production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QA and food safety programs across dietary supplment manufacturing operations
- Ensure compliance with FDA, HACCP, GMP (Part 111) , and other regulatory standards
- Oversee quality control processes (raw materials, in-process, finished goods)
- Manage internal, customer, and regulatory audits and inspections
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Maintain SOPs, specifications, and quality documentation
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D to ensure product consistency and process optimization
- Track and analyze quality metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead food safety and quality training programs for employees
- Manage supplier quality and third-party testing relationships
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
- 4 years of QA experience in Dietary Supplement or food/beverage manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA, and HACCP, regulations
- Experience with audits, inspections, and quality systems
- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- SQF, BRC, or other GFSI experience
- Experience with cGMP 21 CFR Part 111
- HACCP or PCQI certification
- Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement background
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 plus benefits
