Are you a driven and innovative Industrial Engineer ready to make a big impact on your career? Based in Ottawa, KS., our Terminal Tractor division has a rich history of American craftmanship, innovation and quality, and is continuing to strengthen their production teams. In this critical role, you will have the opportunity to increase production and operational efficiency through people, processes and technology by designing, developing, testing and evaluating integrated systems that optimize manufacturing performance. As an Industrial Engineer, you will focus on human factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow and cost efficiency.
Compensation Data
Base Salary: $85K (Depending on experience)
Eligible for Annual Bonus
Eligible for Annual Salary Review & Performance-based Merit Increase
Willing to assist with relocation
What Are Your Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement: Conduct time and motion studies, facilitate kaizen events, and lead continuous improvement initiatives for both production and non-production areas
System Design & Optimization: Design and update production layouts using AutoCAD for optimal space and workflow efficiency, and perform material flow analysis to optimize logistics and inventory management
Quality & Risk Mitigation: Solve quality issues, support root cause analysis to prevent recurrence, and perform FMEA to identify and mitigate potential risks
Technology Integration: Support the development and integration of electrical systems and complex control systems used in modern terminal tractors, applying your understanding of CAN bus systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency, and train personnel on lean tools and process documentation
Product Development: Assist in the introduction and validation of new product configurations, utilize CATIA for tooling design, and support digital tools to enhance manufacturing capabilities

Education
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
3 -5 years of relevant industrial or manufacturing engineering experience required, preferably in a vehicle or heavy equipment environment
Technical Expertise
Proficiency in AutoCAD, CATIA, and related design software, along with a working knowledge of CANbus systems and electrical controls
Lean Manufacturing
Experienced in lean manufacturing principles, kaizen facilitation, and project leadership
Safety Commitment
Strong awareness and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Team Player
Capable of working independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, bringing strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Availability
