What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Host position at Kalm Studio LLC?
KALM Studio is a recovery and movement studio opening in Old Town Alexandria.
We offer two things. Recovery, which is infrared sauna, cold plunge, and contrast therapy. And Movement, which is instructor-led classes in Red Light Pilates, Red Light Yoga, Mat Pilates, and Yoga.
We are one studio. Not a franchise, not a location number. The people who work here will be known by the people who come here.
The name is the whole idea. Grounded, warm, quiet. That is what the space should feel like, and the Studio Host is the person who makes it feel that way.
About the Role
You are the first person a member sees and the last one they talk to. You run the front of the studio, keep it clean and ready, help people find the right membership, and make sure classes and sessions start on time.
This is hands-on work. You will be moving for most of your shift, resetting suites, handling towels and laundry, and turning over studios between classes. Wear shoes you can stand in.
If you are looking for a desk job, this is not it. If you like taking care of a space and the people in it, keep reading.
What you will do
Member experience (30%)
- Greet every member by name once you know it, and learn it quickly
- Check members in, answer questions, and handle concerns before they become complaints
- Guide first-timers through contrast therapy safely, including sauna and plunge protocols
- Keep the front of house calm and unhurried, even when it is busy
Studio readiness and cleaning (30%)

- Explain membership tiers clearly and without pressure
- Follow up with people who visited but have not joined yet

Who you are

Experience with sauna, cold plunge, pilates, or yoga is a plus, not a requirement. We will train you on the equipment and the protocols. We cannot train you to care.
