OVERVIEW
Kallibrated Metals is seeking an Estimator – Customer Metal Fabrication to handle quoting and pricing functions for custom fabrication projects. This position is open due to the retirement of a long-tenured estimator and presents a stable opportunity for an estimating professional looking to work closely with customers, engineering, and operations in a low-volume, high-mix environment. This position offers a competitive salary of $60,000–$80,000 per year, with additional earning potential for candidates who take on shop-floor or project coordination responsibilities.

SUMMARY
- Hours: Monday-Friday | 8-hour days
- Flexible start time (between 6:00-8:00am)

- Prior estimating experience preferred; however, candidates with strong fabrication experience may be considered and trained.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead estimating activities for custom fabrication projects, primarily low-volume and high-mix metal parts
- Review customer drawings, models, RFQs, and supporting files to understand part requirements and manufacturability
- Request quotes for raw materials and outsourced operations as needed to ensure accurate job costing and lead times
- Develop detailed cost estimates and quotations using internal cost models, labor standards, and vendor pricing
- Identify best manufacturing approaches based on capabilities, tooling, and available processes
- Communicate directly with customers regarding scope, requirements, quote clarification, and delivery expectations
- Collaborate with operations to review job cost performance and adjust costing models as needed
- Support continuous improvement of estimating accuracy, cost standards, and pricing strategy
- Optional: take on shop-floor support or project coordination tasks to contribute further to project success and professional growth
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience estimating within a metal fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, models, and part specifications
- Knowledge of laser cutting, forming, welding, and secondary operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook)
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Capable of working both independently and within a team
- Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with customers and team members
