Job Title:
Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) Inspections Analyst
Department: Quality
Reports To: CASS Manager


SUMMARY:

Responsible to the CASS Manager for performing inspection data analysis, which continually analyzes and surveys the effectiveness of the 10 elements of the Maintenance Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The CASS Inspection Analyst will perform a Preliminary Root Cause Analysis on unscheduled maintenance which exceed the alert level each month, or those identified by the Inspection Analyst during the analysis processes and present to the CASS Data Coordinator for inclusion in the monthly CASS Maintenance Report; and will brief the findings (Ref Section 9.10) to the Reliability Steering Group (RSG) for necessary corrections.

  • Responsible for compliance with CASS Department processes. Must identify any changes that will further the continuous improvement of departmental processes, and will submit recommended policy and procedure changes to the CASS Manager for approval.

  • Review monthly Maintenance Delay events, interface with MX Control and Ops for reconciliation, prep MX Delay report for inclusion into the CASS Maintenance Report. Provide monthly Maintenance Delay events to the CASS Data Coordinator and identify significant system trends, as defined in Section 9.3.

  • Collect, retrieve, and maintain the Inspection Findings Data File (IFDF), which supplies the “Unscheduled Inspection Findings” from MISA/AMOS used to continually analyze and survey the effectiveness of the 10 elements of the Maintenance Program (Ref Section 9.6).

  • Maintain and execute the Unscheduled Inspection Findings Alert matrices, for each specific fleet type, to identify trends and program deficiencies, which exceed the Alert Level and do not meet their Performance Standards.

  • Monitor inspection aircraft system discrepancies, compare unscheduled/non-routine findings to Taskcards, and track further discrepancies to effectively identify lack of efficiencies within the inspection program.

  • Provide statistical data analysis to justify and support short-term escalations and potential task interval adjustments for the scheduled maintenance program.

  • Perform the Final Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, and Follow-up procedures for presentation to the RSG for Alerts as identified in Section 9.10. Report each item’s status to the RSG as key milestones are achieved.

  • Present alert findings from to the CASS Data Coordinator and CASS Senior Systems Analyst for inclusion in the monthly CASS Maintenance Report and CASS/RSG briefing slides, and will brief the negative findings {Ref: Section 9.10) to the RSG for necessary correction.

  • Be familiar with all phases of component analysis and all phases of operational data collection and reporting for which he/she has responsibility.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Control or CASS Manager.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Aviation, Engineering, or Safety related field or equivalent desired.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License or Military Aircraft experience desired.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems and components.
  • Excellent Analytical skills
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance, manuals, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written/oral communications
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management
  • Intermediate knowledge and skills of computer applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point software required.
  • Ability to self-manage time schedule
  • Proficiency with process development and general organizational skills.
  • Must be a methodical and pragmatic problem solver and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write detailed analysis reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to conduct basic mathematics; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and to convert between different units of measure. Intermediate to advanced aptitude to perform statistical formulas and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
