JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Assistant Structures Manager
Department: OSC-SRM Sheet Metal
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
BASIC FUNCTION:
Ensure that all airframe related repairs and modifications to Company aircraft are completed in accordance with approved documents. Coordinate with other departments to ensure that airframe related problems are addressed in a timely manner. Ensure that Company aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition. Establish project workflow and ensure proper staffing. Ensure that needed parts are available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with Structures Department processes. Notify the Maintenance Manager of any changes needed to enhance departmental process quality, and submit Maintenance Program Revision Requests for applicable policy and procedure changes.
- Ensure that all aircraft structural repairs and modifications to Kalitta Air aircraft comply with FAA regulations.
- Ensure that the department’s functions are planned and carried out effectively and economically.
- Ensure that definite and realistic goals are established and are met in the performance of activities.
- Ensure that all maintenance performed by the Structures Department is properly documented.
- Coordinate and communicate with the managers of other departments.
- Ensure adequate spares, tooling, and equipment provisioning.
- Provide technical information to the Engineering Department when requested.
- Ensure that assigned personnel complete any due/overdue training.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
NOTE: The Assistant Structures Manager may delegate any assigned duties to any qualified assistant; however, such delegation does not relieve them of overall responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
FAA Licensed Airframe , or A&P
Five (5) years of experience supervising heavy structural maintenance on B747-400, B777 or similar type category aircraft.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma (or equivalent) Technical Training or College (preferred)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
