Bonus for Full Time Position: $2,000 Hiring and Retention Bonus (T&Cs Apply)

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides direct rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). This role supports residents in improving, maintaining, or recovering the skills necessary for daily living, promoting independence, safety, and quality of life.

Reporting: This position reports directly to the Occupational Therapist and the Director of Rehabilitation Services.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist residents with individualized occupational therapy activities to improve self-care, functional mobility, and independence.
• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Document resident progress and response to therapy accurately and timely.
• Educate residents and families on adaptive strategies, assistive devices, and safety techniques.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support comprehensive care planning.
• Promote a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for all residents.
• Demonstrate compassion, respect, and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications:

Education and License Requirements
• Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
• Current Washington State Occupational Therapy Assistant License (COTA).
• Must be in good standing with the Washington State Department of Health.

Qualifications and Skills
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from supervising OT.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative care team.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to resident-centered care.
• Physical ability to assist residents safely with mobility and therapy activities.
