The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role helps support daily living activities, ensures resident comfort and safety, and promotes a positive, respectful environment.
Reporting: This position reports directly to the Charge Nurse and the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
Key Responsibilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
Provide assistance with meals, hydration, and feeding as necessary.
Take and record vital signs, weights, and other clinical data accurately.
Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all residents.
Communicate changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly.
Support residents with compassion, respect, and dignity at all times.
Assist in maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
Participate in teamwork to ensure high-quality resident care.
Education and License Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
Must be listed in good standing on the Washington State Department of Health Registry.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred, but not required. New licensees are welcome.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to follow care plans and instructions from licensed nurses.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Compassionate, patient, and committed to excellent resident care.
Ability to lift, move, and assist residents safely (per facility guidelines).
