Job Description

Responsible to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees at the hospital and other Kaleida Health Operated Facilities. Direct security employees in the performance of security procedures for the protection of people and property. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Safety and Security, establish security programs at the hospital and monitor their progress. Studies and makes recommendations on special security problems. Cooperates closely with local law enforcement agencies on any issue that may impact Kaleida locations. Manages the operations and employees of the site parking and/or valet services. Serves as a member of site committees, including but not limited to Infection Control, Radiation, Safety, Ergonomics, and Environment of Care. Serves as a member of corporate committees, including but not limited to Environment of Care/Safety, Emergency Preparedness Team, DNV Survey Team, Security Leadership Design and Workplace Violence Committee.

Education And Credentials

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related area; or its equivalency of a minimum of 60 semester hours with an emphasis in Criminal Justice/Criminology preferred. NYS Drivers License upon hire required. Licensed NYS Security Guard and Peace Officer upon hire required. CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.

Experience

10 years prior Security or Law Enforcement Experience required.
