We're looking for a Director of Data Science to oversee the Data Analytics and Data Science functions of the company. What You'll Do:Work closely across data analytics, data science and product to enable the team to deliver high impact functionality and hit dates committed to on the roadmapUse business acumen to help prioritize product features and technology roadmap itemsCreate and maintain a technology roadmapWork closely with other engineering leadership to mentor and guide them on business, career planning, budget and technical architectureCreate and maintain an engaging and fun engineering and data cultureCoach and mentor analysts, data scientists and managers to empower them to be the best versions of themselves. You will need to find the right balance between creating the space for them to do their best work, and coaching and developing new skills.Recruit and onboard new analysts, data scientists and managersImprove our delivery processes to increase accuracy of estimation, reliability of delivery, and velocity of executionOversee the company's technology vendor relationships and provide recommendations on whether to buy or build components and capabilitiesLearn and apply knowledge about the drug discount space, and become a subject matter expert for internal teams to draw uponWhat You'll Bring:Bachelor's degree in computer science or other engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience5 years experience as a Software Engineer or Data Scientist in a professional full-time role8 years experience leading a data analytics, data science or similar data team4 years experience working with data scientists on AI / ML modelingExperience with Cloud Native technology development and deploymentExperience building and scaling teams including leading recruiting initiativesUnderstand and design for non-functional concerns such as performance, cost optimization, and maintainabilityGreat analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for requirements analysis, debugging, and risk assessmentKnowledge of and experience implementing engineering principles and agile development proceduresSet Yourself Apart:Experience in the Healthcare or similarly regulated industryAzure experienceDatabricks experienceML models experienceExpected Salary Range: $175,000 - $215,000 base bonusThis position can be remote in the United States or hybrid in Chicago, IL or Boston, MA.
