Children's Ministry Associate- School Aged

Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a NICOTINE FREE MINISTRY.

We desire that all applicants feel comfortable in a Christian environment. All Staff members participate in prayer and Bible Study and need to be comfortable with a lifestyle of prayer and worship that is integrated into day-to-day job functions. General Description

The Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry. Our designated purpose is religious, and we are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping the homeless and impoverished. We consider every position to be essential in the fulfillment of our ministry and statement of purpose. As such, each employee must have a relationship with Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Essential Functions

• As a member of staff, uphold, promote, and encourage, in word and deed, desired organizational culture and values; purposefully seek to establish and maintain a culture that is based on grace and affirms and advances KGM’s vision and purpose.
• Maintain a peaceful, ministry-focused atmosphere.
• Set up and maintain a safe, clean, appealing environment.
• Welcome children and parents as they arrive to the Children’s Ministry.
• Oversee support staff, work trainees, and volunteers in the School Age Room.
• Assist children with games, crafts, activities, and homework.
• Prepare play and learning materials.
• Work with the Manager of the Children’s Ministry to further develop and implement activities and Bible lessons/gospel presentations.
• Log incidents as needed.
• Log in Mission Tracker as needed.
• Communicate with the Manager of the Children’s Ministry about needs, successes and struggles.
• Supervise children's play and monitor their physical safety.
• Keep assigned area clean by taking out trash daily, storing snack food appropriately, keep supply cabinets clean and organized, sweep and mop weekly.
• Be support staff to other Associates in the mornings and early afternoons throughout the school year.
• Participate in recommended training programs.
• Work with other Children’s Ministry staff to continually improve in serving families and children.

Education/Experience And/or Certification

• Prefer a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must have high school diploma.
• Must have training and/or experience in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
  
  

The Pay Range For This Role Is

16 - 16 USD per hour(Kalamazoo Gospel Mission)
