Pay Rate: $20.56 base (DOE)

DESCRIPTION:
Preparing and distributing food items for consumption by students and school personnel and maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition. Washing dishes and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. Provide cashiering duties using the Skyward student information system during meal service for grades K-12 in either the MS/HS or Elementary building
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist in setup and serving of food from counters and steamtable
- Assist in cleanup of kitchen, including production and service areas
- Washing dishes and dish machine operation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. All food and supply items are to be stored properly
- Operate and maintain equipment as instructed
- Notify supervisor of any supplies needed for area of responsibility
- Follow correct procedures for safety and sanitation at all times
- Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Attend trainings and/or safety meetings as required
- Work effectively and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, school personnel, administrators, students, parents, and supervisor
- Working with the team to serve meals
- Prepare pre-made salads and sandwiches
- Set up salad bars and take temperatures
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
- Treat coworkers, staff, students and parents with dignity and respect
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Skills, knowledge, and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of job
- Previous industrial kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to maintain updated knowledge of district policies and procedures that affect the food services program and this position
- Either currently have or have the ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handler\'s Permit upon hire
- Working knowledge of food preparation practices
- Ability to work around children and present a positive role model
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and visitors to the district
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Experience working in an institutional or restaurant kitchen preferred
