Executive Sous Chef
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Executive Sous Chef. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the efforts of the Resort Executive Chef, as the number two chef on the property. With significant volume associated with a steakhouse, QSR, Italian, grab-and-go, conventions, Tex-Mex, buffet, pastry, and candy, Kalahari Resorts does it all!
As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll enhance the guest experience by ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation across all culinary venues and events. You’ll also support and develop culinary associates through hands-on leadership, training, and collaboration, fostering operational excellence and a strong team-driven culture.
Weekends, evenings, and holiday availability are a must.
The anticipated hire date for this position is late Summer 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in ensuring brand consistency and adherence to standards.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and management of culinary training, chef certifications, food and safety training, and other standardized technical and operational training.
What We’re Looking For
- We do require that you have a background, with experience consisting of five years' progressive culinary, five years of management, banquets, and have been part of a hotel or resort with over 500 rooms in size.
- Basic knowledge of P&L, food cost/inventory management, recipe costing, kitchen sanitation, and food safety regulations.
- Culinary Arts Degree is preferred.
- Prior experience with Bake shop/pastry production is helpful.
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish. It is helpful but not required.
