Convention Services Manager
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Convention Services Manager. In this role, you’ll service assigned groups and special events, preparing both types for successful event execution. In this role you will work closely with event planners by planning the details of their agenda, room set up and menu design. The key to being successful is to ensure that a “beyond expectations” experience is delivered. Additionally, you’ll handle bookings for one-day events, as well as prospect for certain social events. You will have the opportunity to optimize revenue goals by suggesting menu enhancements and other resort amenities that align with clients’ needs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in a hotel/resort with event space of at least 20,000 sq. Ft. and heavy group volume is required.
- 2-5 years of catering manager/conference services manager or similar event planning experience.
- Experience detailing & managing large (1000 people), complex multi-day events with many moving parts.
- Experience with negotiating changes in complex programs.
- Skilled multi-tasker.
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Sales experience to up-sell food, beverage, and meeting room services.
