What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse, Operating Room position at Kaizen Surgery Center?
Brand new ambulatory surgery center is seeking experienced OR Circulating Nurses for outpatient orthopedic procedures. The OR Circulating Nurse will coordinate and provide patient care in accordance with established and accepted standards of care, policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and accepted accreditation standards. The OR Circulating Nurse will promote a positive reflection of the center to physicians, patients, and visitors.
Primary responsibilities of the OR Circulating Nurse include:
- Supervise and assist with the safe and proper care and positioning of the patient
- Check surgical suite for needed supplies and prepare room for specific patient and procedures
- Direct proper care of instruments, supplies, sterilization, and storage of equipment
- Control the general “tone” of the operating room
- Scrub, gown, and glove members of surgical team following aseptic techniques
- Maintain sterile field throughout the surgical procedure
The OR RN must have a minimum of two years’ experience in the surgical suite setting, an active and unrestricted RN license in the state of California, and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as function within a team, as well as the abilities to assess patient needs, determine priorities, plan and direct care of the patient within the operative suite, present good public relation skills, and handle stress.
