Provides expertise and analysis to managers and other employees within the department while ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard. Works with minimum supervision.Position Summary
The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling plant operations from a centralized control room. This role oversees production systems, monitors alarms and system data, and communicates with field operators to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor plant operations through control room systems and process monitoring software
- Respond to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and system alerts
- Adjust operational parameters to maintain production efficiency
- Coordinate with field operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors
- Maintain accurate logs and operational records
- Support plant startups, shutdowns, and system transitions
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures
Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- 5 years of manufacturing, production, or plant operations experience preferred
- Experience with SCADA, DCS, or industrial control systems preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to remain focused and make decisions in highpressure situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and industrial recycling environment with moving equipment and mechanical processes. Employees must follow all safety requirements including PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and respirators when required.
