What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Kaiser Permanente?
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Planned Maintenance Manager, performs repairs and modifications to interior and exterior building surfaces.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepares and paints interior and exterior building surfaces.
- Installs and / or repairs wall coverings and protective devices such as Acrovyn wall panels and corner guards.
- Repairs plaster, wallboard and other standard wall surfaces.
- Installs, replaces, and repairs floor coverings and cove base where needed.
- Re-finishes woodwork and furniture as directed.
- Repairs and replaces ceiling tiles.
- Orders and picks up supplies when needed.
- Installs and / or removes affixed items such as furnishings, signage, and medical equipment holders (E.N.T. lamps, BP gauges, etc.) as necessary during the course their of their work.
- Maintains cleanliness of department equipment and spaces.
- Performs snow and ice removal as needed.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed in support of the needs of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Must have four (4) years of verifiable experience performing work as a journey level painter.
Education
- N/A
License, Certification, Registration
- Drivers License (in location where applicable)
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiencies in the use of all basic tools of the painting trade.
- Must be able to install and repair plaster or gypsum wall surfaces.
- Must be able to properly install hard surface floor coverings along with rubber cove base.
- Must be able to replace and / or install ceiling tile and ceiling grid systems as needed.
- Must be able to install wall coverings and wall protection systems.
- Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
