Role Overview:
Responsible for specification review, design, equipment selection, coordination with customers and subcontractors, and overall technical expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and understand specifications and project design documents to ensure the product meets customer requirements and expectations
- Design systems, structures, and equipment as needed
- Select all equipment and vendors, to meet demands of the client, project scope, project budget, and project schedule
- Create or populate 3D models to communicate the design intent and confirm dimensions
- Understand and create psychrometric charts to validate performance under different design conditions
- Create submittal packages for external review to obtain customer approval of design prior to procurement or manufacturing
- Facilitate or participate in review meetings with the internal stakeholders as needed to discuss any issues which might affect their duties to perform their own work tasks
- Create bills of materials and release to purchasing for procurement of all major equipment
- Peer review other mechanical engineers’ submittal packages and release documents prior to distribution
- Stamp and distribute equipment certified drawings to vendors and internal personnel
- Stamp and distribute bills of material, construction materials and notes, arrangement drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and any other drawings issued internally for procurement or manufacturing purposes
- Stamp and distribute detailed piping spool drawings, spool maps, and material lists
- Provide the start-up personnel with all necessary information prior to start-up
- Provide start-up assistance during unit start-up / debug, as needed
- Track major project milestones to ensure adherence to the Kais-AIR project schedule
- Travel to job sites, as needed, including internationally for extended periods of time (days or weeks)
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all parties involved in the project, both verbally and in writing
- Other tasks as assigned
Education Requirements:
- 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects from design through implementation.
