The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all nutrition resources, focusing on assessing family needs and connecting them to a range of support services, including food assistance. The role also includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the food pantry, managing inventory, distribution, and volunteer coordination across both the Recess Bag and Cooking Kit programs.

Community Engagement
- Greet families to foster a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
- Maintain and implement systems that support school leaders and families in achieving school culture and community engagement goals.
- Conduct culturally responsive outreach to support families with the highest needs and strengthen connections between home and school.
- Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, focus groups, and feedback from teachers, parents, and community members to ensure responsiveness, inform program adjustments, and track program outcomes.
- Research, order, and maintain a consistent supply of food items, ensuring the Tuff Shed is fully stocked prior to Recess Bag and Cooking Kit distribution days.
- Manage the organization, movement, and storage of supplies within the Tuff Shed.
- Supervise up to 10 volunteers during food packing and distribution to students and families.
- Coordinate the purchase and installation of the Tuff Shed in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
- Serve as a liaison with farmers, chefs, wholesalers, restaurants, local businesses, and other community partners.
- Maintain accurate records of participating families, popular food items, and financial expenditures.
- Collaborate with the Grants Manager to monitor spending and ensure alignment with grant budgets.
- Partner with the Family Engagement Coordinator to design and implement a comprehensive outreach and advertising strategy, using multiple communication channels such as newsletters, social media, posters, and flyers distributed at school events and pick-up times.
- Attend several KairosPDX staff and family events;
- Participate in professional development to facilitate the growth of each student, staff member and the organization overall;
- Participate in continuous improvement practices including observations, reflections and collaborations;
- Participate in all staff, department and team meetings and seminars;

- BA Preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience required
- Strong communications skills with internal staff, external corporate partners, donors, funders, volunteers, and vendors
- Agility to work across multiple, simultaneous projects and meet deadlines with attention to detail and deadlines
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High tolerance for ambiguity, changing work priorities and deadlines, and a willingness to take on responsibilities and to prioritize work on multiple projects
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multiple constituencies including families and staff
- Team-player attitude and strong customer-service orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
