Kairos Public Affairs is a boutique strategic advisory and public affairs firm working at the intersection of government relations, public-private partnerships, and international affairs, with a focus on Latin America and emerging markets. We advise corporate, institutional, and nonprofit clients on navigating complex political, regulatory, and geopolitical environments.
We are seeking a part-time intern to support ongoing client projects, research initiatives, and administrative operations. This is a hands-on opportunity for candidates interested in public affairs, international relations, government, and strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis related to public policy, geopolitics, regulatory developments, and international affairs, with a focus on the U.S., Latin America, and emerging markets.
- Contribute to client deliverables, including briefing materials, background memos, stakeholder mapping, and monitoring of policy and legislative developments.
- Provide administrative and operational support, including scheduling, document preparation, contact tracking, and coordination related to meetings and events.
- Assist in the preparation of client meetings, roundtables, and external engagements (virtual and in-person).
- Draft internal notes, summaries, and light communications as needed.
- Participate in special projects across Kairos Public Affairs’ portfolio, depending on firm priorities and intern interests.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, in International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Economics, Law, or a related field.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Interest in public affairs, government relations, international policy, and geopolitical analysis.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional discretion and comfort working with senior-level stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
- Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency is a strong plus, but not required.
- Based in or able to work from Washington, DC (preferred).
Position Details
