Hospice Caregiver - Day Shift

We are seeking a day shift caregiver to join our team at Kairos Dwelling, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care.

Job Description:

Day shift, with possible night rotation when coverage is needed

Shifts: 5-, 7- & 12-hour increments

Shift differential for Day shift hours (7a-7p) / Night shift hours (7p-7a)

Every other weekend (12-hour shifts)

Rotating holidays (12-hour shifts)

Position Hours-Approx: 24-32

While we don't offer health insurance, we do have Sick & Vacation pay available

Duties:

· Maintain a safe environment at Kairos Dwelling

· Provide direct care and support to individuals during the dying process

· Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication

· Assume responsibility for other duties necessary to keep Kairos operating efficiently and effectively (laundry, dishes, cleaning)

· Foster a positive and supportive environment for clients and families

· Document client progress and report any concerns or changes in behavior to the appropriate supervisor

· Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care for clients

Qualifications:

· High school diploma

· Sincere interest in working with people living with terminal illness

· Previous experience working with hospice individuals preferred

· Ability to lift and transfer clients as needed

· Knowledge of social work principles and practices in providing care to vulnerable populations

· Familiarity with assisted living or home care settings is a plus

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining client confidentiality

· Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to caregiving

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
