Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all food handling and preparation processes
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop innovative menu items that align with current culinary trends
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes across all dishes served
- Manage ingredient inventory, order supplies as needed, and monitor storage conditions to prevent spoilage
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff on proper sushi techniques, knife skills, and food safety protocols
- Uphold cleanliness standards in the sushi station and overall kitchen area to promote a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role within fine dining or Japanese cuisine establishments
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety practices
- Exceptional knife skills with an eye for detail in presentation and portion control
- Experience in menu planning and creating innovative sushi options
- Background in the food industry with familiarity in catering, restaurant service, or kitchen environments
- Excellent food safety awareness and adherence to health regulations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
