Position Overview
Our firm is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our growing legal team. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in family law and strong, precise writing abilities, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage sensitive legal matters with discretion and accuracy.
This position focuses heavily on legal drafting and written advocacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating client-provided information into clear, organized, and persuasive legal documents that support case strategy and comply with court standards.
We strongly prefer candidates with family law or legal drafting experience, but we are open to considering individuals with exceptional writing skills and the ability to quickly learn legal frameworks and documentation standards.
You will thrive in this role if you are equally comfortable managing procedural requirements and drafting declarations, case summaries, and pleadings that resonate with clarity, credibility, and impact.
Case Management & File Maintenance:
-Maintain, organize, and update client files within MyCase or similar case management systems.
-Ensure all case documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.
-Identify gaps in records and proactively obtain missing information to strengthen case narratives.
Legal Document Preparation & Filing:
-Draft, format, and meticulously proofread a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery requests, and correspondence.
-Translate client experiences into clear, structured, and compelling written narratives that support legal arguments.
-Assist attorneys in preparing materials for hearings, mediations, and trials.
Legal Research & Case Support:
-Conduct thorough legal research related to family law matters.
-Gather, analyze, and summarize relevant case information and supporting documentation.
-Develop timelines and summaries that help present cases in a cohesive and digestible format.

Qualifications:
Writing Skills:
-Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities IN ENGLISH.
-Strong ability to organize complex, emotional, or fragmented information into clear and persuasive narratives.
-Experience drafting declarations or client statements preferred
Technical Skills:
-Technology proficient and able to learn Legal Case Management Organization.
-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Legal Knowledge:
-Prior experience in family law, legal drafting, or as a paralegal/legal assistant strongly preferred.
-Candidates with strong writing backgrounds and the ability to adapt to legal drafting standards will be considered.
