Position Description

Position Title: DevOps Project Manager

Department: Research and Development (R&D)

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Job Scope And Accountabilities

The DevOps Project Manager is responsible for managing IT operations, technology infrastructure, and security systems to support operations. This role ensures efficient implementation of technology solutions, maintains system reliability, mitigates risk, and enables distributed teams to perform effectively. The position assisting with the DevOps Center, leads cross-functional projects, and collaborates with Engineering, Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Customer Success to streamline workflows and enhance system performance.

Key Responsibilities

IT Operations, Infrastructure & Security Operations:

  • Assist and lead day to day IT operations, including device management, identity governance, access provisioning, and remote user support.
  • Manage enterprise security tools and workflows, including Microsoft Sentinel, SIEM alerts, endpoint protection, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee incident response, disaster recovery, and system uptime.
  • Maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Coordinate onboarding/offboarding, tool access, and IT workflow enablement for distributed teams.

DevOps Center & Infrastructure Support Or Cross – Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Development Operations to define CI/CD best practices, deployment governance, and operational standards
  • Partner with Engineering to enhance reliability, workflow automation, and build/integration pipelines.
  • Maintain monitoring, logging, and observability systems to ensure operational transparency.
  • Support environment management, configuration standards, and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure effective use of IT systems and tools.

Project & Program Management

  • Lead cross-functional IT, DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure projects from planning through execution and post-implementation review.
  • Develop project plans, track milestones, manage risks, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Agile workflows and drive alignment across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Evaluate IT workflows, identify process improvements, and implement best practices.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor IT performance metrics and KPIs, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Support audits, remediation, and security initiatives in compliance with corporate standards.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies that improve efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Drive change management and adoption of new tools, systems, and workflows.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in IT operations, DevOps program management, cloud operations, or technical project management.
  • Experience supporting distributed or remote-first teams.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and monitoring/observability tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Active Directory, endpoint management, and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in SaaS, Construction Tech, or enterprise software environments preferred.

Education & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree or advanced certifications preferred (ITIL, PMP, Cloud certifications).
  • 5–8 years in IT, DevOps, or technology operations, including 3–5 years in IT operations management or related roles.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe delivery models preferred.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, ScrumMaster, AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud Practitioner, DevOps Foundation, or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
