Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following proper food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station
- Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools safely and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, counters, and storage spaces in accordance with sanitation standards
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety management compliance
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies or equipment while practicing manual handling best practices
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of kitchen operations
- Strong understanding of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and food handling regulations
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items when necessary
- Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep or cleaning tasks involving cutting tools
- Experience with banquet or large-scale food service is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
