Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Northern Virginia
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 20–40 hours/week
We are seeking caring, reliable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is a meaningful opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others by helping them lead more independent, fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities May Include:- Assisting individuals with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Supporting daily living activities including meal preparation, cleaning, and medication reminders
- Encouraging participation in community events, social activities, and recreational programs
- Providing transportation to appointments, social outings, and work or training opportunities
- Promoting independence and helping individuals build life skills such as budgeting, communication, and household tasks
- Monitoring and documenting individual progress and health status
- Creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment
- Minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare, home health, group homes, or similar support services
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine interest in helping others
- Weekday shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Combination of both available
