Description

Under the general direction of the Trauma Program Manager, performs a variety of duties essential to maintaining the Trauma Registry as mandated by the Department of Health. Responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Trauma Registry by coding and abstracting the clinical and demographic data from patient records. The Trauma Registrar displays the ability to work independently and with the team. She/he assumes accountability for all work performed.

Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Day shift.

Required Qualifications

  • Coursework/Training Medical terminology. Or Knowledge of Medical terminology.
  • Coursework/Training Human anatomy.
  • 1 year Healthcare or related setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework/Training Medical coding.
  • 1 year Medical record abstracting and/or coding.
  • 1 year Medical registry or 2 years working in a healthcare-related field.
  • 1 year Injury severity coding and reimbursement coding.
