Medical Front desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant
Podiatry office in Medford looking for a FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST/MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Position Responsibilities:
-Greets patients and other visitors. Maintains patient flow. Addresses and resolves routine inquiries.
-Screens and handles any calls and/or correspondence for requests for materials, records, patient appointment, ensuring HIPPA guidelines are followed. Performs general registration, obtaining pre-certifications, verifying appropriate coding, insurance, co-pays, medical records, and referrals. Utilization of Cerner electronic health record system.
-Recording patient data, including but not limited to medical history, allergies, and medication changes.
-Answers patient telephone calls, voicemails and responds appropriately.
-Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
-Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.-Prepare injections, as delegated by the physician.
-Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
-Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians.
-Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or physician.
-Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as necessary.
Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Office hours: Monday 8:30- 4, Tuesday 8:30 -5, Wednesday 8:30 -3:30, Thursday 9:30-7

Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent. This is an entry level position requiring 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
Experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
