Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic After-School Cheer Coach to inspire and lead students in cheerleading activities. This role involves coaching students in cheer routines, fostering teamwork, and promoting physical activity in a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a background in sports or physical education, with a strong emphasis on behavior management and child development.
Duties
- Plan, organize, and lead after-school cheerleading practices and performances
- Teach cheers, stunts, and dance routines
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and confidence
- Monitor student safety and behavior during all activities and ensure proper use of equipment and facilities
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to coordinate schedules and participate in school events or competitions
- Attend games with the teams (5-7 games)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- 1 year of previous coaching experience
- Passionate about teaching and supporting children in their love of cheer/dance
- Excellent communication skills and friendly demeanor
- Strong time management skills
- A willingness to work with the students in a positive and supportive manner
- Must be able to pass a background check
