Principal Engineer, AI
Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Frisco, TX, or Minneapolis, MN
We’re looking for a Principal Engineer, AI to help design and build the next generation of AI-powered systems that sit at the core of our content and editorial workflows. This is a highly impactful role for someone who enjoys technical leadership, building scalable AI products, and working at the intersection of engineering, product, and domain experts.
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical leadership and define development strategies for high-impact AI initiatives
- Lead the design and delivery of AI-native features and platforms
- Integrate LLMs and generative AI into user-facing applications for content and editorial teams
- Design and scale agentic systems that are reliable, consistent, and production-ready
- Mentor distributed teams of engineers, architects, and managers
- Own complex technical initiatives, balancing speed, quality, and risk
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Proven experience building scalable, full-stack AI systems
- Strong background in:
- LLMs & Generative AI, Agentic systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt engineering and fine-tuning
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with DevOps and AI/ML SDLC best practices
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Nice to Have
- Experience applying AI/ML in content-heavy or legal-tech environments
- Background in enterprise SaaS
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Salary : $180,000 - $210,000
