Job Overview
Hiring class A cdl driver to haul stock and asphalt from construction sites to required destinations.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times while considering traffic conditions and delivery windows.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and various vehicle types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual methods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo securement standards.
- Strong organizational skills for route planning and documentation accuracy.
