Overview
We are seeking a skilled welder to join our manufacturing and construction team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive welding expertise, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques, and have experience working on construction sites. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components in a fast-paced environment, adhering to safety standards and industry codes. Candidates with a strong mechanical background and proficiency in blueprint reading will thrive in this position.
Duties
- Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and Stock welding processes on various materials such as sheet metal and ductwork
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions according to specifications
- Execute rigging, pipe threading, machining, soldering, and assembly tasks as required for project completion
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites or manufacturing floors
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality standards are met
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities involving welding operations
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, and Stick welding techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, rigging equipment, and fabrication machinery
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and equipment maintenance
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for fabrication tasks
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication projects
- Experience with crane operation or forklift handling is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong safety awareness with the ability to follow all safety guidelines on-site or in the shop environment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic setting
