Position: Manager, Computer Operations – Manager Level
- Term: ASAP through June 30, 2028, with possible renewal or extension.
- Work arrangement: Fully onsite; telework is not authorized.
- Reporting location: 1170 Celebration Blvd., Celebration, FL 34747.
- Work hours: Flexible schedule between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including rotation or on-call coverage.
- Travel: Approximately 25%–40% between FDOT locations.
- Interview: Microsoft Teams or in person, at the hiring manager’s discretion.
- Minimum seven years of IT experience involving multi-platform environments.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, technical certificate, or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education.
The strongest candidate will be an experienced IT Operations Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Desktop Support Manager, or Regional IT Manager with experience in:
- Managing technical support teams, supervisors, project leaders, and technical staff.
- IT service management processes, including incident, problem, change, and request management.
- Service desk operations, ticket queues, SLAs, escalation management, and customer satisfaction.
- Desktop, laptop, mobile device, printer, server, hardware, and software lifecycle management.
- Enterprise software deployments, upgrades, patches, and rollout coordination.
- Network and telephony support.
- System monitoring, availability, operational support, and incident response.
- Business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- IT policies, security requirements, regulatory compliance, and operational standards.
- Performance evaluations, training, mentoring, and succession planning.
The candidate must be able to:
- Travel to remote FDOT sites.
- Provide hands-on hardware, software, network, telephony, and user support.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders, squat, stoop, push, crawl, and bend.
- Work in different weather conditions when supporting remote locations.
This is not exclusively a managerial or administrative position. The candidate must be willing to perform hands-on technical support and onsite deployment activities when necessary.
