Summary
We are currently seeking a Structural Drafter to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in translating structural engineering concepts into precise, detailed drawings that guide construction. The ideal candidate will be skilled in computer-aided design (CAD) and/or BIM software, detail-oriented, and experienced in structural drafting for a variety of building types.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed structural drawings and plans using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software, under the supervision of structural engineers.
- Draft construction documents including foundations, framing, floor plans, sections, and details.
- Update and revise drawings based on markups and design changes from engineers and project managers.
- Assist with 3D modeling of structural systems for coordination and visualization.
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, compliance with company standards, and adherence to applicable codes.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other drafters to support multidisciplinary coordination.
- Maintain organized documentation and version control of project drawings.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or technical diploma in drafting, design technology, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in structural drafting, preferably in an architectural or engineering firm.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit; experience with BIM workflows is a plus.
- Familiarity with structural systems including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks, or other coordination tools.
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction standards.
- Exposure to projects in commercial, healthcare, residential, or institutional sectors.
