K2 Partnering Solutions is seeking a hands-on US Controller to lead and oversee all North American accounting operations while managing a small team of accounting associates. This is a highly operational, roll-up-your-sleeves role where the Controller will remain directly involved in the day-to-day accounting activities — including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger — while also providing leadership, mentorship, and oversight to the broader accounting function.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage all accounting functions for the company’s US operations, serving as the primary hands-on accountant for the region
- Execute the full month-end and year-end close, including preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis within defined close timelines
- Prepare and distribute timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including reporting packages for senior leadership and the Group CFO
- Directly manage and review the outsourced payroll function, validating accuracy across weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll cycles and ensuring payroll-related liabilities are properly recorded
- Directly maintain the fixed asset ledger, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal entries, in compliance with company policy and GAAP
- Manage US cash flow and day-to-day treasury activities, including bank reconciliations, cash positioning, and coordination with the global treasury team on intercompany settlements and funding needs
- Prepare audit schedules and support materials; manage all audit activity including the year-end CPA financial audit, tax compliance, workers’ compensation, and other regulatory audits, serving as the primary day-to-day contact for external auditors and tax advisors
- Directly support the Finance Director in the annual budgeting, forecasting, and business planning process for the US entity.
- Perform other duties as directed by the US Finance Director
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred, MBA a plus
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining internal controls frameworks and accounting policies; public accounting background strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Detail oriented, organized and delivers results efficiently
- Comfortable operating independently in a lean environment; able to manage and prioritize a high volume of accounting tasks without direct reports
- Highly motivated, and self driven, able to work under pressure to meet business needs within demanding timescales, in a complex hands on operational environment
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Word
- Able to effectively work independently and with team members to meet objectives; experience working with remote teams preferred
- Flexible and able to quickly adjust to a dynamic changing business environment
Preferred Skills:
- Recruitment, services, staffing or consulting business exposure preferable, but not required
- Experience with SAP (Business One or S/4HANA) a significant plus
- CPA is a plus
- Self confident and a good sense of humor.
Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
