What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precon Coordinator position at K2 Electric?
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides administrative support to the estimating and marketing department to assist with the procurement of work.
HIGH PAYOFF ACTIVITES:
Project Setup
- Download all documents from various software programs that pertain to a specific job.
- Organize said documents in our internal software program.
- Extract any sheets needed in Bluebeam.
- Schedule all kickoff meetings to discuss the project after approval from Estimating Supervisor.
Team Collaboration
- Schedule and take notes for all Kickoff's, Turnover's & reoccurring meetings.
- Send out follow-up emails with action items to ensure efficiency in the department.
- Coordinate with General Contractors on site walks and job visits.
- Schedule and coordinate the weekly and Preconstruction group meetings with the Estimating Supervisor.
Business Development
- Maintain and update Building Connected invites per note (accept or decline WI provided).
- Attend, take notes and assign tasks for BD Nexus meetings and OSL meeting.
- Coordinate with Business Development/Marketing on the RDL, events and swag.
- Attend events & join construction organizations.
Administration
- Greet incoming visitors with a smile and helpful tone.
- Oversee Precon emails (BD General, Estimating general, and others).
- Assist in maintaining vendor/sub list schedule quarterly meetings, take notes, update contacts.
- Assist in maintaining and updating process in Preconstruction.
OTHER TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Intermediate to advanced PC literacy, including experience in MS Word/Excel and estimating software
- Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
- Strong service orientation
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required
- 3 years office/clerical work in construction industry (construction preferred)
- Experience using estimating construction software preferred
- Knowledge of standard contract terms and how they are applied in construction preferred
- Knowledge of project structure in General Contractor/Subcontractor environment preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for long hours when working in the office
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity equipment
- Ability to lift 20 pounds as needed in routine activities associated with position
- Ability to wear PPE when working/visiting a project location
- Ability to work in extreme heat when working/visiting a project location
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain when working/visiting a project location
