About the Opportunity
A growing automotive manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrical Technician to support production equipment, facility systems, and preventive maintenance activities.
This is a hands-on industrial maintenance role responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the plant. The ideal candidate has strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment, and the ability to diagnose issues quickly in a fast-paced production environment.
You’ll work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and outside contractors to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Perform reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems ranging from 24V through 480V
- Diagnose electrical issues involving motors, relays, switches, sensors, controls, fuses, circuit breakers, and related components
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with online PLC diagnostics
- Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Support equipment including SACMA cold forming machines, INGRAMATIC thread rollers, COSMEC and GENERAL INSPECTION sorting equipment, AICHELIN furnaces, and DURA-PACK packaging equipment
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, lubrication, and mechanical schematics
- Install, maintain, and calibrate process controls and instrumentation
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
- Support installation and startup of new manufacturing equipment
- Rebuild, install, and align pumps and other mechanical assemblies
- Perform fabrication, welding, MIG welding, and cutting as needed for repairs and equipment improvements
- Complete preventive maintenance activities and accurately document work in the company maintenance system
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production and planning to minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all established safety procedures
- Assist other departments and members of the maintenance team as needed
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance, electrical maintenance, or electrician experience preferred
- Degree or technical education in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with 480V industrial electrical systems
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Experience with Siemens S7 PLC systems preferred
- Experience with SCADA communication systems and ABB/SEW drives or inverters preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and lubrication schematics
- Experience with motors, sensors, controls, relays, switches, and industrial instrumentation
- Familiarity with cold heading, thread rolling, metal forming, or similar manufacturing machinery is highly preferred
- Welding, MIG welding, fabrication, and cutting torch experience is a plus
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment such as a Bridgeport, surface grinder, lathe, and drill press
- Forklift experience
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving ability
- Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with production teams, vendors, contractors, and other maintenance personnel
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and safely move or assemble machine components
