K Town Vapor Lounge Llc in Kennesaw, GA is looking for Co-Manager - Operations to join our 6 person retail team. We are located on 667 Ernest W Barrett Pkw Suite 416. Ideal candidate has a special interest in helping keep people off tobacco!


The Retail Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing store operations, driving sales, working closely with the Co-Manager of Sales and supporting the Store Owner in achieving business goals. This role ensures the store operates efficiently, employees are held accountable, and company policies and procedures are strictly followed. As a Manager on Duty (MOD), the Retail Operations Manager provides leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making to maintain a positive, productive work environment while delivering excellent customer experiences. Additionally, this role is responsible for analyzing sales trends, participating in leadership planning and strategy sessions, and implementing initiatives to maximize sales opportunities and achieve sales goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Manager on Duty & Leadership Support

  • Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD), leading the store team, making real-time decisions, and ensuring smooth operations during assigned shifts.
  • Support the Store Manager in executing strategic initiatives, enforcing policies, and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Drive a sales-focused culture by coaching and motivating employees to exceed performance expectations.
  • Participate in leadership planning and strategizing to identify opportunities that maximize sales and business growth.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and hold employees accountable for operational and performance expectations.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, ensuring high levels of team engagement and morale.
  • Address concerns raised by direct reports and communicate them to the Store Manager, ensuring issues are resolved effectively.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and developing employees and supervisors to support a high-performing team.

Operational Management & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, including cash handling, ID verification, loss prevention, and safety protocols.
  • Manage and enforce all store checklists, including opening/closing procedures, daily operational tasks, and facility maintenance.
  • Oversee timekeeping and attendance management, ensuring accuracy and holding employees accountable for punctuality.
  • Maintain and update the store operations binder, ensuring all documented procedures are followed correctly.
  • Identify and resolve facility issues, escalating major concerns to the Home Office as necessary.
  • Ensure all employees are trained and comfortable using the emergency toolkit and troubleshooting store facilities.

Sales Optimization & Merchandising

  • Actively drive sales by ensuring proper customer service, product placement, and promotional execution.
  • Analyze sales reports to make data-driven decisions that optimize inventory placement and increase revenue.
  • Identify slow-selling products and implement pricing, promotions, and clearance markdown strategies to improve sell-through.
  • Ensure floor sets, signage, and marketing materials are executed in alignment with company directives.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and coordinate store layout changes based on sales trends and inventory planning.
  • Execute visual merchandising strategies to highlight best-selling products and drive customer interest.
  • Implement sell-down strategies, adjusting displays to prioritize high-demand and high-margin products.
  • Utilize cross-merchandising techniques to encourage multi-item purchases and enhance the overall shopping experience.
  • Oversee the timely processing and fulfillment of eCommerce orders, ensuring they are delivered within the designated time frames while adhering to operational standards.
  • Monitor and resolve eCommerce order issues, providing prompt follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and order accuracy.


Inventory & Loss Prevention

  • Oversee inventory accuracy, ensuring proper stock levels, purchase order management, and ordering needs.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to identify discrepancies, prevent shrinkage, and minimize loss.
  • Investigate and resolve negative inventory issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper handling of damaged items, securing credits for salvageable products and training employees on damage prevention.
  • Enforce loss prevention policies and coach employees on best practices for reducing theft and operational shrink.

Financial Oversight & Payroll Management

  • Manage cash handling procedures, including register balancing, investigating shortages, and ensuring accurate change orders.
  • Monitor payroll expenses, ensuring labor costs remain within 20% of total sales while optimizing staffing efficiency.
  • Hold employees accountable for timekeeping and attendance, addressing tardiness or policy violations as needed.

Team Communication & Engagement

  • Use Google Tasks to assign, monitor, and ensure the completion of store tasks efficiently.
  • Utilize team chat platforms to relay key operational updates, ensuring all employees and leadership are aligned.
  • Participate in and promote employee engagement in incentive programs, fostering motivation and a results-driven culture.
  • Train and mentor employees to develop their skills in customer service, operations, and compliance policies.

Community Engagement & Business Development

  • Assist in planning and executing store events to engage with the local community and drive traffic.
  • Develop and maintain wholesale vendor relationships, ensuring the store stocks trending and in-demand products.
  • Manage product samples and customer feedback, leveraging insights to refine purchasing decisions and enhance product selection.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail operations, inventory management, or a leadership role in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to hold employees accountable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in task management, team communication platforms, and sales reporting software.
  • Ability to analyze data, make strategic business decisions, and implement process improvements.
  • Experience with loss prevention, compliance enforcement, and cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks such as bending and reaching.
  • Work in a fast-paced, customer-facing retail environment that requires multitasking and adaptability.
