Bookkeeper
K.T.M. Electrical Construction is a growing Electrical Contracting firm serving Connecticut and beyond. We're looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Bookkeeper to join our team and keep our financials as sharp as our fieldwork.
Requirements
- Construction bookkeeping/accounting experience is required— you understand job costing, subcontractor payments, and contractor billing cycles.
- Connecticut DOT experience is a strong plus— familiarity with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and DOT project documentation is highly valued.
- General accounting knowledge to support and assist our accounting team with day-to-day financial tasks.
- Proficiency with bookkeeping software (QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements where applicable.
- Track and manage job costs by project, coordinating with project managers as needed.
- Assist accountants with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Support billing and invoicing for government and private sector contracts.
