Project Manager

We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a Project Manager who will be responsible for overseeing budget management, timeline coordination, and subcontractor oversight, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and within scope. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, experience managing large-scale or multi-stakeholder initiatives, and the ability to thrive in dynamic and technically evolving environments.

The Project Manager will lead a complex, multi-jurisdictional flood mitigation initiative spanning Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Jersey City. This long-term project involves close coordination with key public sector stakeholders as well as various subcontractors and private partners.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Lead day-to-day management of the flood mitigation project across multiple boroughs and jurisdictions.
• Manage project scope, schedules, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
• Develop, monitor, and control project budgets; track expenditures and provide financial reporting.
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring performance aligns with project specifications and safety standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and facilitate collaboration between internal teams, public agencies private stakeholders, and vendors.
• Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder meetings, interagency communications, and on-site visits.
• Monitor project milestones and proactively address risks, delays, or compliance issues.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including reports, presentations, briefings, and tracking tools for internal and external audiences.
• Utilize project management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheets) to manage workflows.
• Adapt quickly to evolving project needs and provide solutions in real-time.
• Transport small trailers or equipment to and from project sites as needed.
• Additional duties and assigned special projects as delegated by manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, public administration, environmental studies, or a related field preferred but not required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional management experience, ideally within the construction industry or a similar outdoor, field-based environment, involving large-scale or multi-stakeholder initiatives and project management.
• Must be available to travel frequently throughout Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Jersey City.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets and subcontractor relationships.
• Experience working with or alongside government agencies, healthcare organizations, or public housing authorities is preferred.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to meet project demands.
• Ability to participate in emergency deployments, which may involve early mornings, late nights, and extended work periods during critical phases or severe weather events.
• Comfortable navigating urban field environments, conducting site visits, and collaborating on-site with partner agencies and contractors.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel out of state as business demands, this may include short-notice or same-day travel for emergencies, cross-training, or other business needs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheets, or similar project management platforms; experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
