Quality Control / Quality Assurance Manager – Flexible Packaging Division

As we continue to grow our flexible packaging division, we’re seeking an experienced QC/QA Manager to lead our quality systems, support compliance initiatives, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Position Summary:

The QC/QA Manager will oversee all aspects of quality control and quality assurance for our flexible packaging operations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading audit readiness efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flexible or food packaging, be HACCP certified, and have experience leading audits and writing SOPs. SQF Practitioner preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) for the flexible packaging division.

· Write, revise, and enforce SOPs to ensure consistent quality and compliance across production processes.

· Lead internal and external audits, including SQF, HACCP, customer, and regulatory audits.

· Oversee the site’s SQF and food safety programs, ensuring ongoing compliance with SQF Code requirements and maintaining certification readiness at all times.

· Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and conduct thorough root cause analyses.

· Measure, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality performance.

· Identify, analyze, and resolve recurring quality issues, defects, or non-conformances; drive effective and sustainable solutions.

· Ensure compliance with cGMP standards, internal policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements.

· Coordinate and conduct quality-related training sessions and Kaizen improvement activities to strengthen the company’s quality culture.

· Maintain and update the QMS as needed and facilitate management review meetings.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for customer audits, providing findings and feedback to senior management.

· Support the sales team by completing customer quality surveys and providing relevant company documentation.

· Provide quality support to production operations during all active shifts.

· Ensure accurate and organized recordkeeping of QA data, Certificates of Compliance (COCs), and change orders.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field preferred.

· Minimum 3–5 years of quality management experience within the flexible packaging, printing, or food packaging industry.

· HACCP certification required.

· SQF Practitioner certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

· Proven experience writing SOPs, managing audits, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

· Strong working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.

· Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
