Position Summary
The Field Operations and Safety Technician is responsible for supporting day-to-day field operations and ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards. This role performs field inspections, assists with equipment setup, inventory, and maintenance, supports job site logistics, and promotes a strong culture of safety. The technician works closely with field crews and management to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality field performance.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations Support
- Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of field equipment and tools.
- Support project logistics, including materials handling, site preparation, and field coordination.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles, equipment, and job sites to ensure proper function and safety compliance.
- Collect and record field data, work logs, and safety reports.
- Provide hands-on support to field teams to help meet project timelines and performance standards.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow and enforce company safety policies and procedures in all field activities.
- Conduct daily safety checks, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and assist with safety briefings or toolbox talks.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or near misses to supervisors.
- Assist in investigating incidents or accidents and contribute to corrective action plans.
- Ensure that all required safety documentation, permits, and records are properly maintained.
- Participate in safety audits, training, and emergency preparedness drills.
Training and Communication
- Support onboarding and field training for new employees regarding safe work practices and site procedures.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients to ensure efficient field operations.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve safety and efficiency on job sites.
Maintenance and Reporting
- Maintain, calibrate and manage inventory of safety equipment such as gas monitors, hard hats, fall protection gear, and additional PPE.
- Assist in tracking safety metrics and operational data for management review.
- Complete daily reports and submit field observations promptly and accurately.
- Maintain and support lab, garage and yard cleanliness and organization, support inventory management

Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred but not required with relevant experience.
Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in field operations, safety, or a technical trade environment.
- Experience in construction, utilities, energy, manufacturing, or transportation preferred.
Certifications (Preferred):
- OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- HAZWOPER, DOT, or other industry-specific safety training
- Forklift, aerial lift, or confined space entry certification a plus
Skills:
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and applicable regulatory standards (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical instructions, and safety documentation.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, mobile apps for reporting, etc.).
- Willingness to travel frequently and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Work Environment
- Work performed primarily in field settings such as job sites, plants, or construction areas.
- Occasional office work
- May involve exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and physical hazards.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
- Some overtime, weekend, or on-call work may be required depending on project demands.
Additional Duties as assigned.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
