Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Roll-Off Truck Driver to join our dynamic waste management team. In this vital role, you will operate various types of trucks—including single and tandem axle roll-off trucks—to efficiently collect, transport, and dispose of waste materials. Your expertise in commercial driving will ensure safe and timely pickups across designated routes. This position offers a ground floor position with lots of upside in opportunities as the company grows.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks to collect waste from residential, commercial, and industrial sites
- Load and unload waste materials using mechanical systems and manual labor as needed
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure optimal safety and operational readiness
- Follow established routes and schedules diligently while adapting to changing conditions or route adjustments
- Maintain accurate logs of pickups, drop-offs, and mileage for reporting purposes
- Perform routine maintenance checks on trucks to identify mechanical issues early and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the day
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as front loaders, rear loaders, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or tractor-trailers in a commercial setting
- Strong driving record with valid commercial driver’s license (Class-B CDL) appropriate for the truck type being operated
- Mechanical knowledge related to truck systems including hydraulic lifts, manual transmissions, and basic troubleshooting skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and perform manual tasks associated with waste collection
- Prior experience in delivery driving or waste collection services is highly desirable
