This Is How You WOW
- Preparing and filing timely tax returns for a given segment of the business to the proper taxing authorities for property tax, multi-state income/franchise taxes, sales/use taxes, GST/VAT taxes and gross receipts
- Performing duties related to the issuances and renewals of business licenses and updating all secretary of state filings
- Validating and processing exemption certificates for all tax-exempt entities, with the ability to understand and support the determination of proper taxability of products and services sold to customers
- Working with external and internal customers in a collaborative approach to establish and maintain good working relationships
- Responding to tax jurisdiction notices and inquiries.
- Assisting and supporting with tax audits
- Special project work as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 0-2 year’s relevant experience in tax research, tax return preparation, auditing or filing sales and use tax returns.
- Excellent interpersonal communication aptitude with the ability to work well within a team setting as well as with internal and external customers
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel using tables, pivot tables, advanced functions and compound functions
- Working knowledge of SAP and manufacturing industry a plus
- Ability to review processes and identify improvements to develop best practices
- Disciplined work ethic and the capability to handle multiple projects
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Integrity, humility, ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely
- The ability to exercise considerable judgement in tax issues and filings
- Working knowledge of Avalara is a plus
- Working knowledge of Exemption Certificate Management systems
- Working knowledge of sales and use taxation
