K&N has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Supervisor 2nd Shift to join our team in Grand Prairie, TXEssential Duties & Responsibilities : Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations;
planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Supervises assigned production department personnel, machines, resources, and operation. Ensures adherence to procedures to meet department goals for production, safety, efficiency, output levels, production mix, training, and documentation.
Accountable for managing performance and meeting goals in assigned departments, including assessing department staff, and identifying problems and requirements.
Responsible for training and assessment of personnel in accordance with set standards.Must anticipate and troubleshoot problems, coordinate simultaneous plans, oversee scheduling, and develop solutions to workflow delays.
Seek ways to increase efficiency, throughput, and quality in the department.Interface with support departments to ensure schedules and expectations are met.
QualificationsExperience, Skills & Education : Leadership and supervisory experience and understanding of management principles.
Knowledge of one or more relevant manufacturing processes preferred, including open-pour molding, injection molding, rotational molding, pleating, metal fabrication, tube bending, aluminum and steel MIG / TIG welding, powder coating, packaging.
An understanding of general manufacturing practices and principles, including scheduling, efficiency metrics, time studies, quality systems, and lean manufacturing.
Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of K&N Business Management System (BMS).
Additional Qualities Necessary : Must be well organized with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple duties, prioritize, follow through on all tasks and projects, and meet pre-determined deadlines.
Must be able to adjust schedule and hours as needed to manage department.Consistently portray a positive and professional image and set a positive tone to employee, customers, and suppliers.
Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers and in a 1-on-1 or team situations.
Must be willing to seek ongoing training and improvement and support same by staff.Must possess a strong attendance record.
