What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tree Service Groundsman position at K&M Tree Services LLC?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- - Drive trucks and trailers to and from job sites, including pick up trucks, dump trucks, trailers hauling equipment, and chippers.
- - Perform general groundskeeping tasks associated with tree service work such as (but not limited to): loading and unloading equipment from trailers, dragging and chipping brush, raking up debris, loading wood into trailers for hauling.
- - Safely operating heavy equipment as needed, such as wood chippers, mini skid steers, and gas-powered chain saws while taking care to customer's lawns.
- - Maintaining spatial and situational awareness while prioritizing safety at all times while on job sites.
- - Perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles, such as gas-powered chain saws, chippers, skid steers, hydraulic lifts, stump grinders, pick up trucks (diesel and gas), dump trucks, and an assortment of hand tools.
- - Process logs into firewood as necessary using chain saws and a kinetic or hydraulic log splitter.
EXPERIENCE:
Mandatory:
- Have and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license
- Ability to back up and maneuver 24 foot long trailers
- Proficiency with gas powered chain saws
Strongly preferred:
- Previous work experience in tree service work
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety practices
- Mechanical skill set
- ISA Certified Arborist licensure
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to follow instruction as directed
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
- Communicate effectively with the supervisor and the team
