Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented On Site Safety Representative to champion safety and compliance on construction sites. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections across construction sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC (National Electrical Code), and other relevant standards.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies aligned with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) best practices.
- Monitor construction activities to manage risks effectively, including overseeing the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe work procedures.
- Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to promote awareness of occupational health issues and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and compliance documentation using construction management software.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction management teams to ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation requirements.
- Respond promptly to safety incidents or near-misses, coordinating investigations and corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management or working directly on construction sites with a strong understanding of construction processes.
- Bilingual (Spainish/English)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, NEC codes, Workers' Compensation policies, and compliance management practices.
- Experience in excavation, utilities, and asphalt.
- Safety reps will be responsible for leading the crew's daily toolbox talks.
- Familiarity with EHS principles and construction management software tools for tracking safety metrics.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively conduct safety training sessions and coordinate with diverse teams.
- Ability to assess complex situations quickly and implement appropriate safety measures in high-pressure environments.
- Construction site experience is essential; prior roles as a Safety Officer or Safety Coordinator are highly desirable.
