Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented General Cleaner to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience in cleaning and custodial work, with the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently and effectively. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of commercial, residential, or industrial spaces while working in a dynamic environment. This is a 1099 position. It starts at 3:30pm Monday-Friday. It takes hours depending on pace. We could possibly offer another position for more money in Imlay city.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in designated areas
- Conduct specialized cleaning tasks such as floor care, buffing, and industrial cleaning procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, offices, and common areas according to established standards
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations during all cleaning activities
- Support additional janitorial or custodial duties as assigned to ensure overall facility cleanliness
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
- Ability to perform industrial cleaning tasks when required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout shifts
- Basic maintenance skills are a plus, including minor repairs or facility upkeep tasks
