Job Summary:

Responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in new construction projects, often multi-story or large scale commercial sites. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively with other construction professionals to ensure that all systems are installed efficiently and safely. We are specifically seeking individuals with proven commercial HVAC experience including the technical skill to work on central chillers, cooling towers, boilers, variable air volume (VAV) systems, and with variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair large scale HVAC equipment including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, VAV systems, and VFR technology.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, and specifications to determine layout, materials, and installation sequence.
• Perform rough-in work; layout and install duct systems, vents, bath fans, returns, and line sets per design and state/local codes.
• Perform finish work: set and mount air handlers, furnaces, condensers, HRVs/ERVs, thermostats, grilles, registers, and accessories; ensure proper airflow and operation.
• Install and connect refrigerant piping, condensate drains, and low-voltage/equipment wiring in accordance with diagrams, codes, and safety standards.
• Measure and determine ductwork and piping requirements; cut materials to size and assemble as necessary.
• Collaborate with project foreman and other trades to ensure cohesive and coordinated project execution.
• Comply with safety standards and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure all installations meet safety and building code requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or apprenticeship in HVAC preferred.
• Proven experience as an HVAC installer or technician in a construction environment and with commercial equipment.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and functionality.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet requirements to drive a company vehicle.
  
  
  

Skills:

• Technical proficiency in HVAC system installation and maintenance; specifically in large scale commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, VAV systems, and VFR technology.
• Familiar with building automation systems (BAS) and direct digital controls (DDC) to manage multi-zone environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in HVAC installation and repair.
  
  
  

Physical Demands & Cognitive Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials including but not limited to work on commercial rooftops or inside mechanical rooms.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Exposure to construction site conditions.
