Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement / Parts Crib Administrator to support die build and manufacturing operations by managing parts procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and vendor coordination. This role is responsible for ensuring the right parts are available at the right time to support production schedules while maintaining an organized, efficient, and accurate parts crib.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, inventory management, shipping and receiving, or parts crib operations and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Parts Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Review parts requests, shortages, and damaged material reports.
- Verify inventory levels before ordering replacement parts.
- Obtain vendor quotes, pricing, lead times, and delivery information.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding orders, expedited shipments, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Support annual vendor quoting activities and cost comparisons.
Inventory & Parts Crib Operations
- Maintain accurate inventory records and organized storage locations.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Prepare parts carts, shipping paperwork, labels, and staging materials.
- Maintain parts documentation and inventory records.
- Ensure the parts crib remains organized using 5S/4S S principles.
Shipping & Receiving
- Receive, unload, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Load and prepare outbound shipments.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Coordinate shipments with internal departments and outside vendors.
Manufacturing Support
- Monitor Microsoft Teams and email communications for engineering changes and urgent requests.
- Review technical documentation, parts lists, and engineering drawings to verify part requirements.
- Utilize manufacturing systems to process orders, receive inventory, and track parts.
- Support die build operations by ensuring material availability and timely delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Shipping & Receiving
- Inventory Control
- Parts Crib Operations
- Manufacturing Support
- Warehouse Operations
- 3 years of experience working with vendors or suppliers.
- Experience reading packing slips, parts lists, and inventory documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to work overtime as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, SAP Ariba, or other ERP/MES systems.
- Manufacturing or automotive industry experience.
- Tool crib, die build, or tooling support experience.
- Experience reviewing CAD, CATIA, or technical drawings.
- Vendor quoting and procurement experience.
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices.

Physical Requirements
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload trucks, pallets, crates, and fixtures.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Occasionally work through breaks or extended hours to support production needs.
Work Environment
- This position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing facility with frequent interaction between engineering, production, shipping and receiving, suppliers, and management. Success in this role requires flexibility, urgency, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting production through accurate inventory management and outstanding customer service.
Salary : $35 - $40
